Refresh- 2012

Wow. I haven't blogged in a while. Should probably catch up on that.

Anyway, over this past spring break, I had the amazing experience to be involved with Refresh (an outreach/retreat) with our youth group at church.  Let me just say that it was TONS of fun... and tiring. But still- TONS of fun!  Let me give you a run down of what our days looked like.

Tuesday: San Antonio Food Bank. Everyone went and helped sort out and package thousands of meals of food.  This took about 4 hours, so we were all thoroughly exhausted. But our day wasn't over yet! We headed back to church, ate dinner, and then played a massive game of ulti-ball, which is basically ultimate frisbee but with a ball.  After that, everyone was ready to collapse. Ok, maybe not everyone. I definitely was.

Wednesday: The Strong Foundation.  Everyone went to basically help out with whatever the Strong Foundation needed help with, like mowing/weed-eating, scraping old paint off of a house, picking weeds, painting, and waxing the floors.  I was in the picking weeds section, and it was tiring, but it felt good to finish what you started.  I think everyone got sunburned but worked really hard to get it all done. After that, the same routine: took showers, and ate dinner.  But the best was yet to come!  After all this we had a talent show!  I was not in it, but lots of others were.  It was pretty hilarious.  Surprisingly, when everyone headed back to the rooms to go to sleep, we all stayed up and talked.  I think this really deepened our relationships with one another and we all had a really good time.

Thursday: Enchanted Rock. (Or as my dad likes to call it, Magic Mound.)  Everyone got up a little earlier than usual and headed to Enchanted Rock in Fredericksburg.  Other than waiting in line for about 2 hours, it was tons of fun!  We all headed up the mountain and just chilled at the top taking in the amazing view.  So beautiful.  After that, we decided to explore a bit and found a couple caves, then climbed another rock next to it.  Again, tiring, but so much fun.  After that we all headed back to church to say our goodbyes and such.

Also, the messages were really powerful and the worship was so intense!  It was all put on by our youth group's leaders which are totally awesome.  Refresh was seriously a lot of fun.  Hopefully there will be a Refresh- 2013!  If there is, I'm totally singed up already.

So much fun. Ok, that's all. =)
